I am a Brisbane writer with a love of early Australian history, in particular the fascinating convict era that, like it or not, formed the European settlement of Australia. The novel Hannah, first published in 2009, and a wide variety of articles published in magazines, journals and newspapers are outcomes of this preference, although my literary portfolio is wide.
I have written four novels, Hannah(historical fiction), The Fernbank Campaign(a political thriller), Literary Liberties (sensual romance) and Wild Writers (sensual romance) and two non-fiction books Fifty Years of Radio Technical Officers (Australian Government archives) and Creative Writing-an overview for students, teachers and writers (educational manual).
My second historical novel, titled Out of the Darkness, is also set in the early days of Australia's colonial history. It will be released shortly in both print and eBook formats... A young convict woman survives the horror of English prisons, a convict ship and the notorious Female Factories at Parramatta and Moreton Bay, to take her place in the society of the new nation. You are invited to read excerpts of this novel on the Extracts page of this site.
With shorter length material, I have been published in leading outlets with numerous historical, lifestyle and travel articles, short fiction, essays and book reviews for a variety of magazines, journals and newspapers. I welcome enquiries regarding the provision of these services.
Lastly, I am a qualified tutor and Technical Writer with considerable experience in the presentation of Creative Writing sessions, a member of professional organisations and chair writing groups.
I trust you enjoy browsing through these pages and welcome your enquiries re my books and services.
